September Cat Cafés & August Successes! (No rest for the weary at the Cat Connection)

Phew! The Cat Connection just finished its craziest August ever, and we are taking a second to breathe! Four Cat Cafés, one on each Saturday that month, kept our staff, shop cats and volunteers busy beyond words and meows. But it was all worth it, as we are so happy to report these amazing successes:

Café visitors: 1,200

Money raised to benefit local shelters: $3,620

Felines adopted into loving forever homes: 18

Following the success of the inaugural Café, the month was a blur of activity and feline adoptions! Thanks to the popularity of the Café, 18 kitties found their forever homes, and local shelters were provided with much-needed funds to help them survive the last few months of kitten season! Our August Cafés also featured a guest appearance by the one and only Sauerkraut Kitty, and Wellness Natural Pet Food so kindly donated a year’s supply of pet food to all of the adopted cats at one weekend’s Café!

This is all thanks to you, and we are so grateful to be able to host such a wonderful event for our community.

September! Now for cats, too!

But as we recovered from the month, we had a crazy idea: why should we stop just because it’s September? Kitten season is far from over, and the DFW Cat Community surely can benefit from more time with their own kind.

So, the Cat Connection is happy to announce we are extending the Cat Café for an additional 4 weekends in September! The first Café will be held on Saturday, September 5th from 11 AM to 4 PM and will feature cats from North Texas Cat RescueAs usual, all donations collected that day will also go to the shelter, and coffee and other beverages will be provided free of charge! Come join your fellow Cat People and hang out with adoptable felines in a relaxed and fun setting!

Just one of many Café success stories

If you are still skeptical that Cat Cafés lead to adoptions, we present you with the newest addition to the Cat Connection staff: Tucker!

Tucker was a featured cat at the Café benefiting the City of Farmer’s Branch Adoption Center, and the Cat Connection just fell in love with this old guy’s personality and beauty. Fortunately, there was a vacancy in the role of CFO (Chief Feline Officer) at the Cat Connection, and Tucker has filled that role like a pro. You can now meet Tucker at the shop, where he’ll be overseeing the humans and making sure the very best is done for you and your kitties at home.

So please, stop by the Cat Connection on a Saturday this September to meet your own Tucker. Trust us: everyone can use a Chief Feline Officer in their life.
