At one point I had two cats plus had two foster cats and all of them liked this fountain. They all had different personalities and different types of fur. The long-haired cat that shed all over also deposited her fur in the fountain, but the pagoda has two filters - one designed to keep the fur out of the motor - so although I had to clean it more often while that cat was in residence, her fur did not cause a problem. Some of the cats liked to drink at the top of the center tower where the water is pumped out after going through the charcoal filter while others like to drink from the bottom pool. The filters last a long time and keep the water clearer and fresher than others with only one filter. Sadly there is only one cat left. I tried to put out the puddle like water dishes that receive clean water every day but she prefers the Pagoda Fountain which is why I am buying another!. In winter the fountain puts more moisture into the air of the room.
