Simply Bonito Treats for Cats and Dogs

There are some cat treats that cannot be left out. Some treats are so compelling to cats that if you leave them out on the counter or table, the cat will get up there, steal the bag and you will wonder what that funny plastic sound is, and later you will find the bag in a corner of the house, totally mangled and perforated with little kitty bite marks. The bonito flakes are a treat that falls into this category. This stuff is great to have on hand to use as a "palatant". The strong fishy smell is typically very appealing to cats and the bonito flakes can be crumbled and spread over wet food, dry food or raw food to help get a cat interested in eating. I try to keep these on hand for this very reason, and I lock them away in the closet when I am done.
