And The Winners Are...
Meet February's 2007 Cat of the Month Photo Contest Winners

February 2007 Cat Connection Winner
Voted "Cat of the Month" by The Cat Connection Shop Cats

Photo Contest Winner - Stanley
Owner: Donna Vader
Cat's Name: Stanley
Breed: Maine Coon Mix
Age: 4 years old
About the Winner:

Here is what the owner has to say about their incredible kitty, Stanley.

"Stanley is a one of a kind kitty. He is probably the sweetest baby that I have ever had.  I had lost my other kitty Ziggy to cancer and it took me awhile to be ready for another. I went to a cat show in San Diego and found Stanley and it was love at first sight.

His original name was Cheddar and he just did not have a Cheddar vibe. So, Stanley was born. He was abandoned as a baby and hand-raised in Newport Beach, CA.  A nice lady took him in and was a foster mama for him. She had wanted to keep him but her other kitties were not fond of Stanley. Luckily for me, he just happened to be in San Diego at the Cat Show just waiting to find a home. The rest is history.

When you call his name he will do a belly flop on the floor, roll over and want his belly rubbed.  He is a big baby and loves to lay in my lap no matter where I am at or what I am doing."

Congratulations Stanley!

February 2007 Cat Connection Winner
Voted "Cat of the Month" by the On-Line Poll Participants

Photo Contest Winner - Jack
Owner: Beth Fenton
Cat's Name: Jack
Breed: Domestic Long Hair
Age: 13 years old
About the Winner:

Here is what the owner has to say about her handsome kitty, Jack.

"Known to all as The Zen Master, Jack is one cool cat. Named for Jack Kerouac because of his black beret and goatee, Jack has certainly done his best to make anyone from the Beat Generation proud.

When not chasing sunbeams, Jack can usually be found napping in bed, or practicing tai chi with his brother, Henry. The two will face off, each in his favorite posture, until the moment disintegrates into a wrestling match, or one of them decides he needs a bath (whichever comes first).

One need never feel guilty about taking a mid-day nap, as Jack is always ready to snuggle with one of his favorite humans. Even when Jack has to visit his doctor, he's a mellow guy, and lets the clinic staff do virtually anything to him, provided that they pet him while they're doing it.

Only two things have ever caused Jack to be somewhat less than agreeable: Cameras and catnip. Jack despises the paparazzi, and will run at the mere sight of a camera. When fresh catnip is given to Jack, he rolls in it, immersing himself in the psychedelic experience. If anyone intrudes on these moments of bliss, they are unhesitatingly met with a slap from Jack.

When told that he was voted Cat Connection's February Cat of the Month, The Zen Master was unaffected by his sudden fame: He stretched, turned over, and continued his nap."

Congratulations Jack!
