The Cat Connection Cats of the Month February 2006 Cat Connection Winner "As far as my handsome little man goes he is 5 years old and was adopted at a Richardson Texas animal shelter when he was a little kitten in 2000. Then about 3 months later we moved from Dallas to Pensacola . Sharky is shy kitty most of the time to others but he loves his mama (me hah), so I guess I'd have to call him "Mama's boy" for sure. He loves to cuddle with me and he always looks up at me with the cutest content face. He likes to be where ever I am usually, since he doesn't like being alone. His nickname is Neboo kitty not sure where I came up with that nick name but he likes it. His favorite place to sleep during the day is generally anywhere there is sun coming in through the windows, he loves to lay and bask in the light, it's sooo cute!!! He also loves water in cups and sticking his paws into them, so whenever someone has a cup or mug around they have to be careful of Sharky coming along and taking a sample since once he sees the cup he is determined to find out what yummy drink might be in it! He even likes to use his paw to drink from his own large water bowl. Sharky also has a big sister that he loves, a 10 year old lab/chow mix named Timber and he likes to hang out with her as well. As far as toys, he's never been too crazy about cat nip but he loves honeysuckle toys and anything that makes crinkles sound. Since I love cats and am a artist, he is a major factor in the inspiration for my paintings and I actually have a series devoted to him, called my “Sharky Cat Series”. One more note, Sharky will usually be found wearing his little black bow tie on most days, hehehe." Congratulations Sharky! February 2006 On-Line Winner "Blondie and Lola are best buds with a bed full of different toys. However, they are most happy when they have Q-tips to bat around, carry around and generally play with. It was the habit of Lola, my 9 month old Tuxedo Tabby to find and play with them. At first it was out of the trash, left by my daughter Merelle. Now she knows how to get them out of the holder on the vanity! Not only that, she has passed the tradition on down to Blondie, our 4 month old Siamese mix baby. It wasn't always this way. At first Lola threw a hissy fit at having a new baby in the house and forced Blondie to cower and hide under the bed. Now they are thick as thieves and one of their favorite hiding places is to snooze together in the netting under my box-spring! Other favorite hang outs are the windowsill, watching the world go by and on the living room chair. They are both very loving; Lola will come sit with you if you call her to and vocalize her wish to be pet. Lola is a very vocal kitty who will almost hold conversations with you. Blondie is my blue eyed doll, a mix of Siamese and calico. She is so sweet; she comes up and purrs loudly in my ear, as she rubs her little head all over my face. Blondie also attempts to groom and bathe me, she licks me and tries to comb my hair." Congratulations Blondie and Lola! Enter you cat in the contest! Vote for the March Cat of the Month here! |
