The Cat Connection Cats of the Month Here is what Denise has to say about her gorgeous girl, Lexi. "People say that Lexi was lucky when I adopted her from a local humane society but I am the lucky one. Lexi loves to be with me. I adopted her for a companion since I had moved to New Orleans and was living alone in a new place. She was such wonderful company and the bonding process began immediately on the long ride to her new home in Louisiana from Florida . She was a great traveler when I would drive home to visit family and friends. She follows me room to room just to be near me and snuggles with me on the sofa at night where she “kneads” the blanket as she sits with me watching TV. She has her daily routine of greeting me in the morning, eating and then goes to watch the squirrels from the window. She then waits for me to return from work as she sits on the pool table so she can see outside. When I get home, she then assists with opening the mail and wants to get her treat and play. Her favorite toy is a furry “beanie baby” kitty that she thinks is her own baby. She carries her baby by the nap of the neck and ”coos” like a mama kitty as she carries her baby back to the bedroom at night and back into the living area the next morning. She is de-clawed and I was very apprehensive of letting her outside at all but eventually I let her out on the deck supervised for short periods. She now is trained so that she never leaves the wood deck area to roam the yard. I have been able to take much better pictures of her in the natural lighting and that is where I snapped the picture of her to enter in the photo contest as she was relaxing on the deck with me. Lexi does not like to eat people food with the exception of yogurt (one of the few people foods that I fed her as a kitty and she never acquired the taste for other foods I guess). One of her favorite past times is to play “peek-a-boo” and then nap in the clean sheets as I make the bed. I love long haired cats and have in the past had to take them in for grooming. Lexi's has “bunny soft” fur that never mats, which is so nice, but she does enjoy a good brushing now and again. She is a purrrrr-fect friend." Voted "Cat of the Month" by The Cat Connection Shop Cats Here is what Hillary has to say about her little princess, Lillie. “She enjoys sitting in the window sill and pretending she is queen of the jungle, or queen of the living room at least.” |
