Motor was a homeless kitty that showed up at Cat Connection wearing nothing but a flea collar. Despite being very hungry and cold, he greeted the owners of Cat Connection with a very big purr; hence the name Motor. After taking Motor in and giving him a warm place to sleep and some great food to eat, it was time for Motor meet the wonderful vets at Midway Hollow. They gave him his first check up and vaccinations and was given a clean bill of health.

Can Keeping the Kitty Help Children with Pet Allergies?

Allergies affect up to 50 million people in the United States, according to the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology. And children make up 40 percent of this figure.
Often the culprit that is setting off the child's sneezing, watery eyes and itchy skin is none other than his best friend--the family pet. This explains why it may be so hard to follow the doctor's orders and find Fluffy a new home.
But there may be good news for allergic animal lovers. A recent study has found that keeping a pet might actually help young children.
The research found that children with allergic tendencies who grow up with a pet right from the start can develop immunity to pet allergens.

Cat Grooming and General Care Tips
Keep your kitty healthy and happy!
Cats clean themselves, why should I groom them? We see our cats spending a lot of time each day licking and cleaning themselves. There are various reasons; however, your cat still needs your grooming assistance to stay healthy and happy. Grooming accomplishes much more than just making your cats’ coat look nice and shiny. It also stimulates circulation, removes loose hair, reduces shedding and helps prevent matting.
Regular Grooming
Regular grooming will also provide you with the opportunity to spend more "quality time" with your cat, combing, brushing and generally bonding with him. You will also be able to check your cat closely for any problems while grooming. Move the hair aside and examine the skin closely for signs of fleas and ticks. Check also for any unusual problems with the coat such as mats, tangles, skin irritations, etc.
