When he was a kitten, he lost the use of his back legs for several months. He still got along great, chasing his brother around and doing everything a kitten would do, just a little bit slower. After several visits to the vet, they were told he would need to be put to sleep as there was not much they would be able to do. But Kim couldn't give up hope and did some research and found a wonderful retired vet that wanted to donate his skills of acupuncture to heal Moe's back legs. And after several treatments, a little physical therapy and a lot of TLC, Moe was back on all fours in no time. Kim tells us he has spent every day since then living life to the fullest. It's just around the corner so call now to make your kitty's reservations if you're planning on taking a break this coming summer season. Why Should I Board My Cat? ![]() It is important to remember that cats do not usually travel well. They usually do not enjoy it, nor do they adapt well to travel. Many people who try to take kitty along with them on their vacation end up spending most of their time searching for their escaped pet. Leaving your cat with friends is just as unsatisfactory. Cats must go through an adjustment period in a new environment and this means they will not look upon your friend's house as "home" for quite awhile. Therefore, your cat may try to escape from the strange house at every opportunity or hide as a fear reaction. Most cat owners realize that it is not fair to impose this kind of responsibility on their friends, nor is it an ideal arrangement for their pets. [READ MORE] A Safe Cat is an Indoor Cat Written by: Lesli Wyant, DVM ![]() If you want your cat to live a safe, healthy life, keep the back door shut. Letting it outside to explore its wild "roots" is a romantic idea in theory, but it is also a surefire way to introduce your pet to serious diseases, parasites, and physical trauma that indoor cats have a much lower risk of encountering. "All cats should be indoor-only cats," said Nancy Peterson, spokesperson for the Humane Society of the United States . "Saying that a cat needs to be allowed to roam free outside is like saying that a child needs fresh air and then leaving the toddler unsupervised in the dangers of the outdoors while the parent goes to work."
