A cat's common rule of thumb is “What's yours is mine, and what's mine is mine!” Those of us who own cats know that this is indeed true. By providing your kitty with their own furniture, they will be less inclined to scratch or sleep all over yours. By supplying your cat with their own scratching pad or post, it will leave them with little desire to take out their scratching habits on your couch or rug.
