What is THECATCONNECTION.com Affiliate Program and how does it work?
The THECATCONNECTION.com Affiliate Program is a fast and easy way to add e-commerce to your Web site and start generating revenue. If you have a web site, you can join the THECATCONNECTION.com Affiliate Program and earn money by promoting any of our products from your Web site using the links we provide you. Once you have joined, each time a visitor clicks from your web site to THECATCONNECTION.com, you will earn 10% commissions of their total sale (not including tax or shipping). Commission excludes special order items or large furniture.
After you have created an Affiliate Account with us, the simplest way to get started is to place one or more of our banner ads on your site and link it directly to our home page using your unique affiliate ID number. When a customer follows the link from your page back to THECATCONNECTION.com, your unique affiliate ID number will travel with your customer as they shop our site. Once they complete a transaction, you'll receive 10% of the total sale (not including tax and shipping and excludes special order items or large furniture.). It's that easy!
Based on our experience, affiliate programs are most successful when affiliates do a bit more to entice visitors to click on the link. A good way to generate ‘click throughs' is to marry our link to copy on your website which highlights the products we sell.

How much can I earn?

When and how do I get paid?
You will be paid on a monthly basis when your commissions exceed $25. If your commissions for any month do not total $25, we'll roll your balance over into the following month(s) until you reach the $25 minimum. All checks will be mailed to the billing contact you put on the Affiliate Application. Payouts will be made on or before the 20th following the prior months sales.

How do I join/ start?
It is very simple to get started! Just four easy steps:
- Set up an account with the Cat Connection - Account Set-up
- Complete the on-line Affiliate Application - Affiliate Set-up
- Promote your Affiliation with TheCatConnection.com
- Wait for your monthly affiliate referral payment to arrive.
You will receive an email confirming the receipt of your application. We will review your application as soon as possible, typically within 2 or 3 business days. Upon approval, you will get your own unique Affiliate ID and start earning money!

Will you provide me with banners and graphics to use for my Web site?
We will provide you with all the necessary banners, graphics and textual links. Once you join, log in to your newly created account. You will now have access to your own personal affiliate code and link. Use your custom referal link to link one of the image banners located on our Affiliate Linking Options Page. Who does THECATCONNECTION.com want as Affiliates?
THECATCONNECTION.com wants Web sites interested in selling our products. We encourage all interested Web sites to apply to our program. Before you can participate in our program, we will need to approve your Web site.
Mainly we look for Web sites that:
- Are aesthetically pleasing
- Are fully up and functional. We will temporarily decline Web sites that are down or are under heavy construction
We will not accept sites that have any of the following:
- Displays content that may be deemed pornographic, sexually explicit or offensive
- Promotes the mistreatment of animals
- Promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age
- Promotes illegal activities
- Incorporates any materials which infringe or assist others to infringe on any copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights or to violate the law
- Includes "thecatconnection.com" or variations or misspellings thereof in its domain name
- Is otherwise in any way unlawful, harmful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, harassing, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable to us in our sole discretion.
- Link Farms will be scrutinized thoroughly. We will not accept sites that harvest thousands of links to related or unrelated sites.
- Sites containing excessive animations.

How do I know what commissions I've earned?
Once you join, you will be able to use your user name and password to allow you to login and check your reports including how much commission you have earned to date.

What products count for commission?
Most all merchandise on THECATCONNECTION.com count for commission. Excluded is all wet and dry foods. Commission also excludes special order items or large furniture. We do not pay commission on donations and/or the purchase of gift certificates.

I have more than one URL, can I register each of them?
You may register more than one URL as long as they are different Web sites and not multiple URL's of the same one.

How should I design my Web site?
You are free to design your Web site and promotion as you see fit and as long as it does not violate our Affiliate Agreement. It's your site and you're certainly free to list other resources or participate in other affiliate programs. We do, however, request that you do not join another affiliate program which directly competes with our products.
There is one offense for which will be cause for immediate and permanent termination -- SPAMMING! If you use unsolicited e-mail or any newsgroup/message board postings to promote your link, your account will be terminated immediately. This is a ONE STRIKE AND YOU'RE OUT policy.

Can I create custom affiliate links that link to a specific page/product?
Yes, you can link directly to product pages.
For example, if your affiliate storefront link is http://www.thecatconnection.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=TCC&AFFIL=XXXXXXXX, your custom Affiliate ID would be &AFFIL=XXXXXXXX. With this part of your Affiliate ID, you can now link to any product page at the www.thecatconnection.com online store.
For an example, we will use the product Sticky Paws. By taking the product page URL, which is http://www.thecatconnection.com/page/TCC/PROD/BEST/STICKYPAWS, you would then add your Affiliate ID to the end of the URL so it will then read http://www.thecatconnection.com/page/TCC/PROD/BEST/STICKYPAWS&AFFIL=XXXXXXXX. You now have a direct link to that page using your Affiliate ID. This will work for any of the product or category pages in our store.
